Ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe…
Ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe…

*Men of the prehistoric age                 (*mankind)
were always on the move.
They followed game across the land
Nomads, hunting, spear in hand

To shield themselves from winter’s bite
They used wood, Ha!—and furs at night.

In the fifteen hundreds,
they found their way
by the St. Lawrence and three Great Lakes
they chose to stay.
Ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe…
Ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe…

They walked from Africa to Europe and then Asia
Even North America
which they reached
by crossing the Beringia (land bridge).
Never lost, they walked the ice
to southern lands. Ha!  Nowhere precise.

In the fifteen hundreds,
they found their way
by the St. Lawrence and three Great Lakes
they chose to stay.
Ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe…
Ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe…

Hills, plains and valleys
They settled, started their family.
Becoming semi-sedentary
They farmed the land they had cleared previously.
In forests, they found fruits
and gathered plants, Ha!, to use medicinally.

Ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe, ohe…
